- Made from 3.3 oz/sqyd Ultra 100X fabric. Ultra fabric features a woven Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) face fabric laminated to a waterproof backing. Ultra fabric boasts extremely high abrasion and tear resistance and is the strongest fabric we offer.
- Ultra fabric is waterproof, PFAS Free, and is not coated with DWR or other chemicals.
- All seams and attachment points are taped making the pack highly water resistant. We recommend adding dry bags or a pack liner for additional protection for important items like your clothing and sleeping bag.
- Our curved carbon fiber Arc Frame creates an air gap between your back and the pack. The gap keeps your back cool and prevents items from rubbing against you while hiking. The frame keeps the pack rigid and transfers most of the weight to your belt.
- The 60L pack is our most popular volume with enough space for 5-6 day carries on a thru-hike with ultralight gear. A top strap, and base straps allow you to lash on extra items for longer carries. The straps come off if you don't need them.
- A roll top closure allows you to compress the top of your pack as your gear load shrinks. Side compression cords can further shrink the volume and are also useful for carrying trekking poles or an umbrella in the side pockets.
- Multiple styles of interchangeable shoulder straps are available to choose from. Our straps feature comfy 3/8" closed cell foam padding with 3D Mesh on the bottom for air flow and cushioning. A daisy chain lets you clip on accessories, and a sternum strap can be moved up or down for a perfect fit. Load lifter straps help keep the pack secure and snug.
- An interchangeable padded belt allows you to find the perfect fit, and swap it out if you need to. The belt connects directly to the frame for superior load transfer. "V style" webbing allows you to cinch down the top and bottom edges of the belt to hug your curves more securely than belts with a single adjustment.
- Spacious side pockets will fit up to two 1L bottles each. They are positioned low on the pack and slanted forward for easy access. The pockets have drainage holes at the bottom, and elastic to keep them tight at the top.
- A large stretchy mesh center pocket is handy for quick access items like your rain jacket and snacks, and it allows you to dry out wet clothing and gear.
- A drinking tube can be threaded out the corner of the roll top closure and secured with the daisy chain on the shoulder strap.
- All standard Bear Canisters will fit in the upper half of this pack standing on end. Use your sit pad and clothing as padding around the canister to fill out the space.
- The short and medium size frames will fit into an airplane overhead bin with the top rolled down to the frame. The tall size frame may not fit unless you pop the vertical frame bars out of the pack.
- The shoulder straps can be adjusted up or down for a perfect fit using our patented torso adjustment mechanism. It works like a conveyor belt. This is great for sharing the pack between people, or for growing teenagers. If in doubt, most people fit our "medium" adjustment range.
- Our torso height adjustment mechanism is is covered by US Patent No. 9,848,687. Our Flexed Arc Frame is covered by US Patent No. 9,060,590.
- All Zpacks gear has a two year limited warranty against defects in materials or workmanship. Please see our return / warranty policy.
- Designed and assembled in the USA from domestic and imported components.

Frame Height:

Torso Height:
To measure your torso height, you will need the help of a friend and a string or cloth tape measure.
The position you like your belt to sit makes a huge difference. Some people put their belt below their pelvic crest on their hips, others wear it on their pelvic crest, or above it depending on their body shape.
To ensure you lock in the perfect fit, we suggest putting a belt on over your clothes in the spot where you’d like it to ride. Start your measurement at the center of the belt where it meets your spine.
Lower your chin towards your chest. This will cause the C7 vertebrae to protrude at the base of your neck. The C7 vertebrae will mark the top of your torso height measurement.
Using the string or cloth tape measure, follow the curve of your spine up from the center of your belt to your C7 vertebrae. This measurement is your torso height.
Most adults fit our medium adjustment range. If in doubt try a medium. Make sure to load up the pack when trying it on. Exchanges are ok.
Belt Size:
The padded portion of the belt is 1" shorter than the listed minimum adjustment. For example a "Medium (30-35 inches)" belt has padding which measures about 29" tip to tip, and has a minimum adjustment circumference of 30". It is the recommended size if your actual measurement is up to 35". The webbing extends further for adjustment.
To measure your belt size, pull a string or cloth tape measure tight around the spot you’d like your belt to ride. Choose a belt with a minimum adjustment of a couple inches smaller than your actual waist measurement. This will leave room for you to tighten down the belt if you lose a little weight on trail.
The belts on our Arc backpacks are removable and interchangeable. This gives you the ability to switch the belt out if your waist size changes or if you order the incorrect size by mistake.
